Root Wood Style Stand

This small carved Root Wood Style stand has been made from Conkerberry, a very rare timber that grows in far north-west Queensland and the Northern Territory. It is a reasonably hard and very sturdy timber. The orange you see is the natural colour. This stand had just been oiled. The branches on this tree are reasonably thin and have hollow centers, naturally. It measures 7 cm in diameter and 9.5 cm high. A bonsai pot with a 5 cm diameter base would suit this stand.
